There are many potential hazards to the safety of workers and the general public that warning signs should tell us about. It is extremely important to keep our workplace accident free with the appropriate safety information. Using EC recognised symbols and text warning signs should provide a clear message to be careful or take precautions in a designated area from a potential hazard.
Danger signs can be used in extreme situations to warn of an immediate hazard that will result in serious injury or death if not avoided. The use of the word warning indicates a hazard that could result in harm, whereas Caution signs identify risks that may result in minor to moderate injury.
Warning signage must comply with British Standard BS EN ISO 7010:2012, the safety signs recognised standard.
