Fire door signs

All fire doors should be clear of obstructions inside and outside must be easy to open and should be clearly labelled with fire door signs.

In order to conform to current UK legislation, buildings must display clear
fire exit and emergency signage.

They're designed to indicate the direction and location of the nearest exit should an emergency arise.

The EEC Directive (EEC/92/58) from 1992 introduced graphical symbols, or pictograms (the running man), as the main element of the fire safety sign, alongside simple text.
